Free speech as defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary simply means that one has the legal right to express one's opinions freely. The First Amendment of the Constitution makes sure that the government cannot censor people. So, in a perfect world, this means Americans have the right to express their opinions without legal pushback.

As an American, free speech is one of our fundamental rights as written in the Constitution. But now big tech companies, like Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube have started to censor some ideas (generally conserative). When we as a people start to censor others, we lose the ability to express ourselves freely to each other. The United States is a unique country with different people from all over the world, and to silence them would create a single-minded system--the exact government the Founding Fathers fought so hard to break free of.
